Um...what's the point of this card? It somehow sounds even emptier and more meh than any other vanilla creature...

Because what Zendikar really needed was Foot Soldiers without a relevant creature type.

Next.

who gave that card higher then 1 to make it an average of 1.7? yes I guess you could use it as a blocker with a body of 4, But come one I mean for 1 more mana you can get a serra angle (flying vigilant 4/4 or if 2 white color too high for you you could have a siege mastodon (3/5)

For the same 4 mana you can get a Rhox Meditant (a 2/4 that make you draw a card when comes into the battlefield) and at least Rhox got a rhino creature type so it could worka synergy with other rhinos.
or get yourself a wall of faith (0/5 that you can pump the defense higher if needed)
or even get yourself a Razorfoot griffin (2/2 flying first strike)

Honestly, other then in a sealed deck tournament where you got crappy cards and you are force to play white, but your deck would only be 39 card without it, but even then I thing I would take a land. At least I guess it can serve as a easy discard choice if your opponent play a discard deck.

Even in a sealed deck Tourney, I would rather run 1 card down than use this piece or Krupp.
Who decided it was funny to vote high for this?

Probably the worst card in Zendikar...figures that the only Zendikar pack I buy has it in it.

*EDIT*
Well the flavor text is kinda funny I guess.

**EDIT**
Now that I think about it, this card is more understandable when you remember Limited play. There has to be SOME sucky cards...

yeah its so lame how white is sooo the weakest colour in zendikar. and that black is sooo the strongest.

what is the POINT of paying 4 mana for a 2/4??
and yes, i think we are still missing some pigs and chickens - probably coming soon!

Can't *** and moan about power creep if your gonna *** and moan about vanilla commons. If every new creature they print is good, then the game is pretty much shot. Sure, no one's gonna run this in their prized deck, but I'm sure a few Zendikar drafters were happy to have it on the field to block with.

Filler.
A card to fill a pack with a useless card in place of a good card to urge the consumer to buy more.
Filler.

A 2/4 for 4 with no abilties and in White? No thanks. Worst card in Zendikar that I know of.

Why so much hate for the BATTLE CATTLE? Caravan Hurda is another pitiful excuse for a Pillarfield Ox

As a player who has been around since Revised, I love vanilla creatuers. There should be more of them, and less guys with the insane power levels that are currently around.

Yeah, this guy is obviously over-priced, but I like the card and the flavor text cracks me up. I will personally buy someone a booster if they can provide photographic evidence of hitting this card with a Serra's Embrace and winning the game with it.

Might make Ox tribal viable...

On a more serious note, this would've been fine at 2White IMO.

Well, the game can't just have good cards, you need crap to fill the boosters.

Pillarfield Ox will punch your teeth out and sleep with your mother, since he's so hardcore.

Also, Muraganda Petroglyphs.

This ox is awesome. I'm going to try to think of a way to build an excellent deck around him.

I found a way to make this awesome. For my (Magic-playing, constant EDH rival) friend's birthday, I got him a gift card to a game store we frequent. But I didn't have a card to go with it. Later, as I was cleaning my room, I found this on my floor. I grabbed a pen, and drew a guy riding it yelling "WE RIDE AT DAWN," changed its type to Ox Boss Brushwagg, made it 42/42, and added to the flavor text "...such as 'Sweet mother of Iona it's coming for us AAAAAH!" I then taped it to the wrapping paper. It was the most awesome card I've ever made, and he bought Ajani vs. Bolas with the gift card. So, 5/5 for being the best decorator ever. Thanks, Pilly.

I've found that decks with Pillarfield Ox in them are lucky.

Two years ago, a friend of mine once picked out a bunch of these from the stacks of Zendikar commons at our local games store. He then put one in front of each stack of Zendikar common cards, making it look like they just had big stacks full of Pillarfield Ox in the Zendikar section :P

Note that one of the "colorful curses" shows up on the M13 reprint. Maybe that explains why this was reprinted, rather than something strictly superior like Benalish Heralds.

You know whenever you see a creature this boring it's destined to end up in a core set.

I like the flavor text on the different versions of this card. Really consistent.
