This card is awesome until the opponent kills the vulnerable 1/1 druid and the 4/5 tree with it. Its not really all that great considering that the opponent proabably will have some type of removal to deal with this threat.

Etherium, you can pretty much unsummon any creature to get rid of it. That's kinda why they call it unsummoning.
Although, I must wonder if the forest would remain a creature or not once off the battlefield. This card says it stays as long as ~ is on the battlefield, nothing about the forest itself.

Huge reward, huge risk. I like this card, but the risk of making one of your 3 forests a creature is HUGE. You've opened it up to having it bounced or worse, 2 mana land destruction. Amazing in limited against green, white, or red-- relegate it to the sideboard against black or blue.

One question....Is the 4/5 Treefolk creature affected by summoning sickness in any way?

@Joseph_Leito
Once the forest leave the battlefield its no longer considered the same forest so it wouldn't be affected by awakener druid anymore and hence, would no longer be a creature.
@Zentoker
Unless there was a fundamental game change I missed somewhere. All permanents have summoning sickness when they come into play, but it only affects creatures and stops them from attacking or using an ability with the tap symbol. So if you played that forest that turn, yes it would have summoning sickness when turned into a creature.

A green weenie deck might be vaguely interested in using this card to get 5 power out for only three mana, but the drawback is pretty crippling - Wrath automatically 2 for 1s you, and terror can wipe out a forest, which is bad.

Okay, first things first. Awakener Druid's text says 'as long as Awakener Druid is on the battlefield.' You can't unsummon the treefolk creature, and you can't destroy the land. If you destroy the treefolk creature, it just goes back to being a land, instead of a land AND a 4/5 creature.
This card is great, only uncommon because of the druid's vulnerability and obvious priority as a target, especially early game.

errrrr if you bounce the druid the forest reverts back to a forest
if you doom blade the forest or whatever destroys creatures ( death mark ftw) its gone it wont revert to being a forest since itll go to the graveyard it IS a creature AND a land at the same time..you can stone rain/rain of tears it you can fireball it u can even sac it >.<
if they bounce the forest/treefolk and the druid stays in play if you play the land again itll just be a regular forest (not sure bout this can anyone confirm this)

Ok, here is a question, say you have 4 lands, you cast an awakener druid and target a land you have controlled since turn one, will it be able to attack since you have controlled the permanent since the beginning of your turn? If not, the same would apply to animate lands like mishra's factory correct? The only way to attack with an animated land is to animate it at the beginning of your turn?

So here is a question. The rules displayed here for the Awakener Druid says that its essential that a forest becomes the 4/5 creature. Couldn't the player target oppenents forest were it available?

Nice that if you have 4 or more lands, you can swing with a 4/5 straight away (by targeting a land that didn't come into play that turn, so it doesn't have summoning sickness).
Not so nice that: if you do attack (or want to block) with it you lose a mana for the turn, that your opponent's creature kill doubles as land destruction, and that bounce thing.

Since people keep asking questions, this card works as follows:
If a forest is in play one must be targeted. It does not have to be named "Forest", but have the basic land type of forest, which means the Ravnica double lands (Overgrown Tomb) can be animated with it.
The targeted land does not have to be your own land. The only requirement on the target is that it have the type "Forest". A creature with the type "Forest" (such as a land that was previously animated with another effect) can be targeted to change it from whatever it was to a 4/5.
The animated land counts both as a creature and a land. It is subject to all rules for both. If the land came under your control since the beginning of your turn, it has "summoning sickness" and cannot tap for any purposes, including its generic "{T}: add {G} to your mana pool" ability.
If an effect could target a land or a creature it can target this animated land. A creature destruction would destroy the animated land. A land destruction would destroy the animated land.
If the land would be returned to its owner's hand it loses all of the effects previously on it. It no longer counts as the card. It will not re-enter the battlefield as a creature.

could be used as an exotic form of land removal

becomes and enters the battle feild are 2 different things
if a forest is on the battle feild before hand or your last turn then when it becomes a creature it shouldnt have summoning sickness therefore it can tap and attack as normal.

I love the flavor and art of this card. The ability is pretty cool too, and can be a big late-game help. But like others already stated, this card has a huge risk early too.

So it's this card or Leatherback Baloth, which costs the same. Leatherback Baloth is a 4/5 creature (like the 4/5 tree your Awakener Druid will be able to make), but your 4/5 tree is gone the second your vulnerable, 1/1 Awakener is hit by a lighting bolt or the like. Unless you're playing a multi-color deck, definitely stick with the Leatherback Baloth.
That's not a fair comparison AT ALL, Robinhood. If you have four mana your 4/5 essentially has haste with Awakener Druid, plus the mana cost is much less colour intensive, plus the Druid is an extra body for anything that pumps your whole team (such as Overrun). On the other hand, you're down a land if your 4/5 gets destroyed, which you didn't even mention.

Unfortunately you can't flicker him with the ability on the stack to get multiple treefolk-forests.
This is also one of the only ways to get Forest tokens in the game: -Play Life and Limb -Play Awakener Druid and turn a Saproling-Forest into a Treefolk-Forest (because it remains a land :D) -Bounce Life and Limb and (then) Awakener Druid -The Treefolk-Forest becomes a Forest as per Awakener Druid
Enjoy your land token :D. I'm unsure what happens if you instaed bounce Awakener first. It'll become a Forest-Saproling I believe, instead of a Saproling Forest (if you follow my meaning) because it ceased to be a Saproling when you converted it.

And then they made Leatherback Baloth. This is still more splashable, but it's a much larger risk compared to the Baloth.
