I've just got to say it: this ability feels really red to me.
Also, given the combat rule changes, this card is much more difficult for blue to abuse - no more damage then bounce. How are blue blockers in this set? I don't feel that they are strong enough for Alluring Sirens to act as removal.

Red usually has this ability, but I could see it working in blue too. Red incites anger in opponent's creatures, forcing them to attack, while blue can simply tricks them into attacking. Also, you're underestimating this card. It can be used to force things to attack into Wall of Frost (which you can still unsummon before damage is dealt without affecting the ability; not that you'd need to very often), causing them to be asleep for 2 of your turns, or into a big creature (or one with death touch) that has didn't attack the previous turn, either because it had summoning sickness or you simply chose not to attack with it.

Uhm, Omaa, how exactly can you Unsummon it before damage? I was under the impression that once blockers had been declared, damage immediately proceeded, under the new rules.

You still get priority during hte declare blockers step after blockers are declared. The only differences are the ordering of blockers that must be done and the fact that you can no longer respond when damage is on the stack. So, you can unsummon after blocking, just not after the combat damage step begins.

Yeah The Ability Is Red But The Flavor Is Perfect Alluring Siren Plus In Draft Who Goes One Color No One So Youll Have Big Blockers In Your Other Colors. Plus AMAZING ARTWORK
"This is all part of the "declare blockers" action. Once that's done, players can cast spells and activate abilities."
Which means that you CAN Unsummon after blocking, you just can't have both combat damage and bounce - you have to choose one or the other.

Even under new rules, this card is still useful. Then again most people probably won't play this card anyway, so whats the point of obsessively discussing it?

This card makes for an excellent combo with wall of frost. Alluring Siren will also help any player get rid of weakling creatures with annoying abilities (Birds of Paradise I'm looking at you). I do not get why people argue this is a card more fitting for red. It's a siren; blue rules over water (where sirens reside). Also remember that a siren's song is a trick to get sailors to kill themselves; mind tricks are native of blue mana. That set aside I'd give this card a 4/5. Extremely useful, cheap summon cost, great art, and fitting flavor, what else can you ask for?

Against a Bant deck you can force him to either attack with one of his 1/1s (probably an Akrasan Squire) and minimize his bonus from exalted.

I'd like to use it, I have plenty of stuff I could get rid of with an Alluring Siren. I built a mono-blue mill/control deck, and part of what it does is either smash my opponent's creatures against a Wall of Frost or something that can kill it, or even better, smash them against something that can't be killed by damage and it may kill their creature and mills their deck....I'm thinking Swans of Bryn Argoll, now what I thought to do is maybe get 1 or two more copies of the Swans and what I'll do is use multiple Alluring Sirens to pull in a few creatures, especially if they're big ones, and have the Swans block each of them, causing them to draw way too many cards than they can hold (unless they have no maximum hand size) and making them waste alot of cards, even if they draw ones they want, it'll still put a good dent in their overall strategy. Once I had a Outrider en-Kor transfer about 24 damage to a Swan and made them draw 24 cards. It worked b/c the source of the damage isn't the Outrider, it's the opponent's creature.

Fredin: I hope that you are right that this card can be used to get rid of creatures with annoying abilities. However, I don't think it is as powerful as we both would hope. Using the "Birds of Paradise" example, consider: A) Player 1 owns "Bird of Paradise" (referred to as "BOP" from now on). Player 2 owns Alluring Siren (referred to as "AS"). B) Player 1's turn begins. The first step of the first phase is the untap step. If BOP is already tapped, it untaps. If I am reading the official rules correctly, spells and abilities can not be played during the untap step. That means that AS can not force BOP to attack before it untaps. C) The game eventually reaches a stage where spells and abilities can be played. Player 2 says, "A-ha, I force your BOP to attack!", and places AS' ability onto the stack. D) Player 1 responds by saying, "Very well. I tap BOP and place its ability onto the stack." E) The stack resolves. First BOP's annoying ability resolves. And only after that point does AS' ability attempt to resolve. But AS' ability results in nothing, due to it's text stating, "Target creature an opponent controls attacks you this turn *IF ABLE*" BOP is UNABLE to attack because it is tapped.
Am I interpreting the rules correctly?

"Okay, your Lotus Cobra attacks me now." "No!" "Yes. Siren says so." "... But I don't want to!" "Don't care. C'mon, Lorthos needs a hug."
A scenario I plan on making reality some day.

Dude, Siren's call in creature form! With great art!!
Siren's Call is an old favorite of mine, and is extrememly helpful for knocking out meddling creatures and capitalizing on mis-matches in your favor.
Not a dominant ability, but a great one to have, at a paltry cost of 1U.

@Rashid_Clark:
It's not even that complex. If Birds of Paradise becomes tapped before the Declare Attackers' step, it won't be able to attack. Alluring Siren is useful against creatures that don't have (tap) activated abilities.
Interesting that WotC implemented a new creature type just for this thing. It does make it more flavorful, but one wonders how many sirens will come in the future.
