I CAN'T believe how underrated this card is. Red burn decks have NOTHING BETTER to manipulate their OWN DECK. Early or late game, editing your next two draws is vital for the mana curve.

very very good card, imagine dropping two land from the top of your deck when u dont need either. that is effective card advantage because your opponent will have to sit through those land clumps.

Two mana for two damage is terrible by today's standards (Lightning Bolt is one mana for 3) but Scry makes it an awesome card. Play it.

@iondragonx - I'ma let you finish, but Browbeat is one of the reddest deck manipulation spells Of All Time.

Without splashing another color you can manipulate your next two draws. So very worth it in a burn deck. Too many times I've had four mana on the board, plenty enough for all my spells, and then drawn 3 lands.
With this guy, I can make sure to throw those at the bottom of the deck, or at least increase the chance of getting my Breaking Point if I'm getting backed into a corner.

Ah, one of my favorite burn spells. Sure, not nearly as efficient damage to mana cost as Lightning Bolt or even Incinerate, but the Scry effect can win you games.
Wow red deck manipulation alone makes this card playable, the 2 damage is just icing on the cake!

nice card to put on isochron scepter, up there with lightning bolt and incinerate imo

So many burn decks would like nothing more than to get those excess lands out of the way. This seals the deal.

I think this card is not so good as everyone seems to believe. Basically, you draw a bad card to avoid drawing another bad card in the next turn, plus it doesn't work every time. You're on turn 2, you play this and scry. You find a grim lavamancer and a land, so you put them in bottom library because you already have a lavamancer on the field and you don't need anymore lands. Next turn you draw a land. Or, you scry just to find out you have two lightning bolt so playing magma jet was unnecessary in the first place. Either way, you spent 2 mana, a card and dealt only 2 damage which is horrible for an aggressive deck. It wouldn't be so bad if it costed 1, but 2 mana means you can't play anything else on your second turn and if you're playing very aggressive this can doom you. I just prefer to play fetchlands, they change your library every turn so your library order is not fixed plus they remove lands so you're less likely to draw one. Sure, they can remove a good draw and place an horrible one instead of it, but as I have already stated magma jet is not 100% guaranteed to find you something better. I've played magma jet for a while now, been playing it in my burn for about six months, and I feel really bad about it.

This card is awesome. Yeah, I know, two damage for two mana is mediocrity, but this card can help you keep your tempo, which is invaluable in burn.

There will be a mechanic in Avacyn Restored called miracle, which will allow you to play cards with this mechanic for an extremely reduced cost if they were the first cards you drew that turn. The first one spoiled (Thunderous Wrath - wait until AVR is released for the link to work) will allow you to deal 5 damage for 1 mana this way.
And it is going to be ridiculous when paired with this.
