i wonder whether this is going to replace the classic Hill Giant in later core sets.

Hill Giant has no class.

Did I really just make that joke?

Why does this card exist?

It's really not that bad. Cards less than 3 stars are too crap to put in a deck, this is less than 3 stars, but I can think of so many worse cards.

No no, this is the wrong card to look at, a 3/3 for 4 is useless, move on...

The card would be okay if it would've cost 1 colorless less.

How many creatures now are there that are 3/3 for 4 mana with no abilitys?

Art looks like it walked out of a crappy WoW game.

This card's slot in conflux would have been better served by another card, espcially since it made it into M10, although something tells me that this was inserted into Conflux because another card got cut...

Its a common, commons stack up badly to other cards. I give it a 2.5 for the nice art and Flavor text.

It's ok in warrior decks. But that's not saying much.

Because not every red common can be lightning bolt.

Good flavor, good dinosaur for limited, clearly underrated.

It's not a fantastic creature, but it gets the job done for those on a budget.

Don't bash vanillas, guys, they fill their roles well.

It speaks well of Conflux as a set when Hill Giant is the absolute worst rated card in the whole set.

Not that bad, perfect for my friend's minotaur tribal deck. :)

I have nothing against vanilla creatures. This is just a bad vanilla creature.

@desolation_masticore:
Yes, but red could also have instead gotten its years-overdue 1Red Grizzly Bear.
Black, of all colors, has one now. Giving red—an aggro color—a grizzly bear isn't going to make everyone quit playing and bring about an apocalypse of widespread ruin.
I could easily say the same thing about that Walking Corpse, you know...

Grizzly Bears and Centaur Courser are weak creatures, giving each color these weak cards wont ruin the game, because they wont get played regardless.

All it will do is increase the power level of budget players decks, and their is nothing wrong with that. Weak cards dont define formats, strong cards do. Heck even Urza and Mirrodin had its weak cards, but they didnt slow down the powerhouses that are legacy staples to this day, did they?

You could give green a common watchwolf for 1Green, and a 4/4 for 2Green.

For those who are angry that Red doesn't have a grizzly bear- Boros Guildmage, Izzet Guildmage, Rakdos Guildmage, Gruul Guildmage.

But as for true vanillas, Yes, Red is Aggro. But it is NOT a creature color. The list is, with top being the best creature color, and bottom the worst,

Green

White

Black

Red

Blue

This is why black has a bear and red does not. The color wheel is more colmpex than Aggro/Control or Direct Damage/Card Draw.
