Laccolith Rig is a cheaper red enchantment that works like this. It doesn't add 2 extra damage, but will generally be preferable to this since it only costs one mana and on top of that can be cast on your opponent's creature as well with good results.
As usual with such very old cards, the flavor of this one handeled very carefully and does make more sense though. At least the one that's wearing the mantle has (unfortunately) control over it, while the one with the rig has not :D

I'm not sure why everyone thinks that Stuffy Doll is a bomb combo here. The ability only triggers once after blockers are assigned. What, you can attack for 2 damage?

This is actually a reasonably good card in something like a griffin casual deck or some other sort of skies deck.
The reason I say that is that it allows you to blast utility creatures which would otherwise be out of your reach in white. You can even get a sort of soft lock going using this against a deck that relies on smaller dudes.

Nice, this is actually faster than first strike!

@Mode: Laccolith Rig is actually the opposite of this. This triggers on attacking and being unblocked, while the Rig triggers on being blocked.

This card is awesome! Even on just a 2 power shadow guy it will nuke a LOT of creatures. Flying works about as good. 4/5

Very nasty follow-up to Invisible Stalker, essentially giving you a three damage hexproof pinger!
