Ah, yes. I have not seen this card before, but it seems it could work, but, like most of the older cards, the use is a bit narrow.

So glad they made it a cleric.

My friends actually laughed at me when I played this the other day, haha. Still, I maintain that he is useful, particularly against black decks which have tons of crippling enchantments.

Could be comboed with Shape of the Wiitigo to avoid that card's penalties, I suppose.

Well, at least his {T} ability is reusable, only problem is your relying on the fact that your opponent plays auras, and not just auras, crippling auras such as Pacifism or Pillory of the Sleepless, personally I would much rather run Disenchant or similar spells in most decks. The problem with this card is that it's mechanic is too slow and narrow to warrant a slot in most decks...also nothing is quite as hilarious as enchanting a Miracle Worker with Arrest or Prison Term.

Would have been cooler if it was creatures you own, that way you could have un-Control-Magiced your critters if needed.

Not that useful since you can't get rid of Control Magic. Ironically, these days it is most useful against white enchantments like Pacifism.

For a one-drop, he's not too bad, but it really should've said "creature you own or control" so it could get rid of Control Magic / Mind Control, too, since those are probably the most popular offensive auras.

I love the flavor of The Dark. White went from unicorns, angels, and pegasi in the core set to extremists, zealots, mobs, and martyrs. The darker sides of structure, order and faith. I love how he removes auras through flagellation.

It seemed like people played more enchant creature spells then, maybe because we didn't know any better or just didn't have any better cards. But still, pretty unreliable ability, which is why it is almost free in the casting cost and only tap to activate. But good flavor for the set and classic artwork so you can't be too hard on it.
