Hey Wizards, please explain this card before I kill you all.

The flavor text succinctly describes how stupid, backwards, and retarded this card is. The card goes against the idea of walls (High toughness for less cost) as well as a decent creature (More P/T for less mana).

This art is so damn funny. The fish looks so retarded I can practically hear it going "DDUUUUUUHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Yeah, it was probably not a very good idea to turn its head upside-down... ;)

What a shiddy card. If it had been maybe a three CMC, it may have been worth playing.

Did Magic just get its own Dopefish?

this is a good card (for a common) it is a blue fatty that doesn't require ur opponent to have an island to attack, just that you play one. are we suddenly gonna get mad just because not every blue creature is as good as inkwell leviathan
You KNOW you want to pay six mana for a 5/5 that can only attack some of the time...

Meh, not a very good card becasue it's over-priced. I can't help thinking that Wizards are saying "Looks! Now it has Defender," *plays a land* "and now it does not!" as if it's ment to be imporessive.
But the art is nice.

Just remember that with cards like Sleep and other blue manipulation, it doesn't need big creature to get the job done. Making this card unblockable or just throwing down a Soaring Seacliff suddenly make this guy a threat, especially if you have some counter spells in had to counter act anything your opponent might throw down on this guy. Blue isn't often blessed with big creatures(yes, even Vizzerdrix carries its weight when equipped with Steel of the Godhead), especially ones like Sphinx of Jwar Isle or Goliath Sphinx.

Man, Wizards keeps finding new ways of having big blue creatures suck.

Now I'll usually argue, most bad cards are funny and have their uses if you really try, at least casually.
But this guy was a waste of a common, and I'm getting tired of seeing magic just not try on commons. Defender should be, AT LEAST, -1 CC, not +1, no matter how easy it is to get rid of. Blue isn't much for fatties, no, and to show this it likes to give them huge drawbacks, but this just isn't funny. Give it Islandwalk, and MAYBE. MAYBE. But this? No. Not even worth running with Ula's Temple.

This badly wants shroud. It sucks otherwise.

Yeah I'll admit, this card isn't that great to hard cast, but getting it on the table with Quest for Ula's Temple certainly is pretty fun :)

Still not bad for what it is though. No-one likes to fight against bouncing and countering and then have a 5/5 turn up right where they don't want it.
