See my posts on the other lands of this nature...they just ROCK

And multicolor deck should never be without a full set of these. Coming into play tapped is an entirely acceptable tradeoff for having huge versatility (and cool pictures).

Tri color fixing without an excess mana requirement is pure awesomeness. Pair with garruk to have him untap the land after you play it, making it available first turn it comes into play. A magus of the candelabra and a land enchanted with fertile ground can also tap/untap this land plus the original one infi number of times.. not really sure why they reprinted that card actually.

The five tricolor lands of Shards of Alara are direct upgrades of the five tricolor lands of Homelands, with this being an upgrade of Castle Sengir.

Awesome art, very good card. This is an immediate 4 of in any grixis color deck.

magus of candelabra is not anywhere near as broken as you think it is. It taps, meaning it's a one use thing.
A lot of people make that mistake, actually. It's sad. You'd think people would understand what it meant to use a tap ability
So the upgrade on a castle is ruins. Go figure. And yes it's better than Obelisk of Grixis, you don't have to pay 3 mana to play it.

Hm... I can see this, and all the other Tri colored lands being in a 5 color deck, AND have the one card that untaps cards that come into play tapped... what was that cards name again? xD Signit of Vitality or something?
Obelisk of Grixis can be played on the same turn as a land, and it's an artifact, which is a boon all to itself. But yeah, if you're playing grixis, use this card instead of the Obelisk. It doesn't screw you over if you get it instead of basic lands.
These lands are all awesome. Perfect for wedge commander decks. Also good if in a regular deck you want only two of the colors but can't afford those lands that tap for a color and cause a point of damage.

They say that a land can be done as an artifact with mana cost of . Obelisk of Grixis costs because it doesn't come into play tapped. No one is strictly better or worse than the other... I think it's up to you, which should go into your deck. If you want to accelerate, use the Obelisk. If you want to have a slower but more steady deck, use the Necropolis. Personally, I prefer the Necropolis, because I don't want to spend my third turn playing only an artifact, and because an artifact takes always a slot where I could put an useful spell... A land that can give you 3 kind of mana and its only drawback is that it comes into play tappes is not something that you see everyday... 4.5/5
Castle Sengir comes into play untapped, but it's quite annoying to use... Having to spend 3 mana to have a or isn't handy at all!
Crosis's Catacombs comes into play untapped, which is good, but you have to bouce another land. Good if you have some landfall or Seed the Land or Vinelasher Kudzu (here I'm talking about the respective green lands, not this in particular...)!
Every card has its own cons and its own pros, even Castle Sengir, and even stricly worse cards! Which one is more useful is up to you and your deck...

I absolutely love this land. Grixis has so many awesome three-color fatties, like Blood Tyrant or my namesake.
