This seems overly expensive.

Fun if you're bringing out a Inkwell Leviathan.

Why is this card rated so low? I used it to bring back Sharuum, Sharuum brought back a Sphinx Summoner, and the Sphinx Summoner got me an Ethersworn Canonist. Great in a deck with a lot of graveyard interaction.

This one is meant for Esper. Sure, eight mana is expensive for a Zombify effect, but since it's non-Black that's kinda expected. Plus, it gets back stuff like Scourglass, too.

Use this as a instant just like DarthMohawk1 said. I use this card as well to bring back a Sharuum which bring back a Scourglass all during my the end of an opponents turn, then wipe the field during my turn, and attack with Sharuum and some other creatures.

very expensive. the only use i've found is getting mox lotus or something stupid expensive out in a casual game

Barf alert. Only good in it's block, otherwise you can probably play Reconstruction and hardcast an artifact cheaper than playing this mess of a card.

I don't really get how this is bad, it's expensive, but certainly not bad for an out-of-color "grave to the field" effect. Ontop of that, the word "artifact" can have amazingly broad applications. It's Buried Ruin 5-X for UW artifact decks

By itself, it's far too expensive. 8 mana and two colors for that effect, phew... Many cards do that much much cheaper, like argivian restoration. Costs only half as much and only requires one color.

The only advantage I see that it is by itself an artifact, so in some heavy artifact deck that could be used in some combo, or something. Still bad.

This can become really powerful in edh/commander games. I know this card was originally designed to be played over the course of two turns, one turn to cast it, and then another turn to use when needed. But in Commander, mana levels can become such, that you may have enough to play this and crack it in the same turn.

Now the good news that some people don't seem to see. Check the card ruling - it says "Return target artifact from your graveyard TO PLAY". Not to your hand. This alone makes it worth the 8 mana, if you are trying to get an expensive creature back onto the field that actually costs more then 8 mana.

Note - Darksteel Colossus and Blightsteel Colossus do actually hit the graveyard for a moment, before their triggered ability activates and forces them shuffled into the deck. In this scant amount of time, you can activate the powder and bring them back onto the field for .
