I have a most wonderful plan for him in a red-blue deck! Play him, equip "elemental mastery" to him, then "clout of the dominus." If I need blockers, I get three temporary 3/1 elementals, and I get to see if the top card of my library is one I desire next turn (great in control.) If I need attackers, I do the same thing. If I run some way of flickering the elementals, I can keep some of them! (But that's unlikely.) Crackleburr would like this, since I generate elementals, tap them and him for three damage, untap a blue critter (perhaps one I attacked with, since I have plenty of unblockables) and this to bounce something, then tap this again to make more elementals, and repeat as many times as I can.

Banishing Knack lets you bounce a permanent and dig into your deck for 1 mana each time for one turn

Simply use Paradise Mantle on him. Tap him for mana, untap him with that mana, and get exactly the card you need right when you need it. Awesome to get that last combo piece you need: e.g. Grimoire Thief + Paradise Mantle + Freed From Real rfg your whole opponent's deck. As soon as you get grimoire and freed simply unequip the paradise mantle from puresight, equip it to grimoire thief and enjoy your winning combo.

Honestly, the best thing about this card is that it's got a great body for a 2 cmc merfolk wizard.

BelloAbril I think the combo works without a freed from the real, but you can only do it to yourself.

Good power level, lots of cool combos and can always be used as a sort of vigilance. Also has great art!

I like to use this with Glare of Subdual to lock down my opponents while I dig through my deck, / at a time.

Gets pretty out of hand with Drowner of Secrets. Mill one card for every Blue or White mana you can produce each turn, on top of all the other cards you already mill with Drowner and other merfolk? Gonna be a short game.

Because nobody else has mentioned it yet: Lavamancer's Skill would be another great aura for this creature! :)

Don't forget Ocular Halo, guys! It's pretty much the best creature for that card.

this guy is the ultimate last combo piece finder if you attach a paradise mantle to him. BelloAbril could not have said it better.

In my unbiased opinion the single greatest card ever printed.

The {Q} symbol is the most overdeveloped, degenerate mechanic on any creature card. Untapping stuff wins games XD

Paradise Mantel & Laboratory Maniac is clearly the combo we're all searching for.

Relatively tame compared to some stuff in here, but Lavamancer's Skill gets you a machine gun lava merfolk

If they're going to errata the untap symbol every time it's on a card, then why is it a symbol in the first place?
Leech Bonder, the only other {Q} card for one mana, can't even come close to this. I can't believe this card is so cheap (in real money). How did WotC think an untap card like this was a good idea?
