If it applied a -1/-1 counter, it would be fantastic. (Mediocre compared to a lot of Mirrodin infect though, ;D)
The normal -1/-1 is okay for a draft or limited maybe and the card itself is barrels of fun; treefolk assassin? Hilarious art? No green?

Seems like he'd be pretty awesome in a pauper deck, maybe? Assassinates those darn utility creatures that never swing. It's also nice that he can't target himself with the ability and will still beat face as a 3/3.
