Kill this thing yourself to get Devouring Strossus.

It's a complicated sort of reanimate card, but with the advantage of combining two of the tricky elements of reanimation- not only does it reanimate, but it also lets you drop the creature from your hand into the graveyard.

If you don't want to discard a creature card, or can't, you can sac him at instant speed to get around his first ability.

Use him with Phyrexian Tower.

I kinda like this guy, he's one of those guys that'll let you cheat in Emrakul if you have a sac outlet

See: Nantuko Husk

Play husk, pass turn

next turn:

1.Play snatcher
2.Discard Emrakul
3.Respond to Emrakul's shuffling ability with sacking snatcher
4.Res Emrakul for happy times (no extra turn, but a 15/15 turn 4 isn't half bad)

this card could easily replace mind maggots in my deck.

EDIT, nope actually mind maggots is probably gonna stay in, but this is still going to find a place in my deck. probably he'll actually replace one of the gravediggers...
or all of the gravediggers......

This guy is pure secks. Both elements of reanimate, creature to the bin + return creature to play, on the same card. With a sac outlet, he's great, but even without he puts the opponent in the same kind of quandry as does a defensive Phyrexian Obliterator - can't kill it, can't attack into it.

Easily one of the best reanimator cards ever printed.

Of all things to snatch....... a goblin? Not a Serra Avenger or something?

Turn 1
- Swamp -> Black;
- Carrion Feeder.
Turn 2
- Second Swamp -> BlackBlack;
- With Black cast Dark Ritual -> BlackBlackBlackBlack;
- With BlackBlackBlackBlack cast Body Snatcher and discard Emrakul;
- Emrakul's triggered ability (shuffle your graveyard into your library) goes on the stack;
- Sacrifice Body Snatcher to Carrion Feeder in response to the triggered ability;
- Body Snatcher's triggered ability goes on the stack above Emrakul's;
- Carrion Feeder's activated ability goes on the top of the stack;
- Carrion Feeder's ability resolves and it gets its +1/+1 counter;
- Body Snatcher's triggered ability resolves and Emrakul enters;
- Emrakul's triggered ability resolves and you shuffle your graveyard into your library;
- ENJOY YOUR SECOND TURN ANNIHILATOR 15/15!!!

I firmly believe this is an excellent card.
Its power and toughness are virtually irrelevant, as you want it to die.
A beautiful peace of reanimation, if you can call it that. It's closer to cheating it to play, effect wise. Assuming you target the card you discarded, of course.

I really like the flavour too.
It steals a body form an uncast creature, and then, upon death, splits open to reveal something much nastier inside it.

Very nice.
I do, however, weep over the length of the rules text.
Imagine the flavour text you could have on a card called Body Snatcher!

Use Buried Alive before casting Body Snatcher. Then use Victimize on the 'Snatcher and get 3 of the 4! YES. (Or just use Victimize on it in general and get a bonus creature- not tapped- out of it! Sweet!)

Usually they don't give you the discard and reanimation on the same card...

Wow, amazing card that filled the hole in my Kresh the Bloodbraid sac deck. Gets cards into your graveyard, from your graveyard, provides some control against aggro players, and is very well costed! Even more than that, you can avoid discarding a creature if you don't have one by sac'ing it to something like Ashnod's Altar before it exiles, AND you can avoid it getting exiled when it hits the graveyard with undying and persist effects, or returning it to your library or hand with cards such as Volrath's Stronghold! Add in a Strionic resonator and other such things, and you'll have a powerhouse reanimation card that will see you dropping Eldrazi from at most turn 4 with a decont sac outlet!
