I don't know if i nessecarily like this guy better than Serra Angel, and don't even get me started on that abomination Baneslayer Angel... but he's a pretty cool 4/4 none the less.

Think about this its a 4/4 flyer with all of O-rings strengths and none of its weaknesses for a great mana cost considering most 4/4 flyers are high cost anyway plus O-ring itself is 2W so in essence your really getting O-ring for its normal cost of 3 mana and a nice 4/4 flyer for 2 or vice versa

There are only a few creatures I like that need to die to use their effects. But I prefer to think of this as a 4/4 flier for 5 (which is good) with a nice little aftereffect.

Card advantage, people. If it dies in combat, chances are that its 4/4 body took whatever it was blocking or whatever was blocking it with it. Once that's out of the way, you get a free exile, which unlike O-ring can target a land, which can be extremely useful when you're staring down something like Library of Alexandria or Eye of Ugin. I put my opponents into hate mode every time I play this because they don't know what to do about it. It's a 4/4 flyer, so it will end the game relatively quickly if left alone. But if you kill it, chances are you're going to lose a crucial piece of tech or your own finisher. Great card, and amazing art, by the way. 4.5/5.

Considering getting one more instead of (one out of 3) Serra Angel in my flyers deck. One Serra Angel less for same mana cost but with the ability to remove a permanent when this leaves the battefield.. hmm, I think I'll take that chance over loss of Serra's vigilance anyday!
Heheh, was using this in my EDH today. Had Emeria, the Sky Ruin, Cauldron of Souls and this out. So much fun.

This is one of those rare cards that appeal to every psychographic.
Timmy: "Sweet deal! A beatstick AND I get to blow something up!"
Johnny: "Hmm... Maybe Mimic Vat shenanigans?"
Spike: "Lolz, card advantage. U mad?"

Now in Magic 2012, this card's rules text is significantly cleaner!

I must find a supreme recursion deck with which to abuse this badboy. Reya Dawnbringer, Shelodred, Emeria, Debtor's Knell.
Seems like it'd also go really well with Followed Footsteps or Rite of Replication - kicked, of course. =)

I wish they printed this instead of baneslayer.
EDIT: Hey wizards listened to me! They're reprinting this bad boy in m12.

To everybody saying Mimic Vat, the tokens are exiled. So you need a sacrifice outlet for this to work.

Really love this guy. Archons are a really cool creature type.

This fellow is a boss in my / EDH. With creaure buffs like Gaea's Anthem and Mirari's Wake, he is seldom just a 4/4 flier. The death trigger is often icing. Also, having True Conviction out with him on the field can really hurt your opponents if they don't have enchantment removal.
