I'd love to get my hands on a set of these specially since a guy I know likes to now play a set of Gloom in his vamp deck... Whip out this card on him and watch him squirm as his vampires are powerless Mahaha

We need a magical hack variant that lets you change creatures to players.

Black / White control: Darkest Hour. Nobody gets to attack.

This card is one of the sickest hosers out there, because black is nearly helpless against global enchantments without white or green. Blue might Boomerang/Capsize then counter them; red's not much more help. And let's not forget that Swiss Army knife of color-based combos, Painter's Servant, if you want to eliminate attacking altogether.

And THAT's how you hose black.

This + Absolute Grace is a good way to make mono-black players scoop.

My friends all play black and refuse to let me play this anymore. Well, this and Devout Lightcaster.

A very strong Enchantment that screws black over a lot, forces the players who use a lot of black spells to integrate white, or green.

This is when they started REALLY overdoing it with color-hosers. Prior to this, Karma was considered by many to be the meanest color-hoser - although Conversion and Circle of Protection: Red came close.
Light of Day took color-hate to a new level. A black mage simply cannot win with this card on the table. No, you can't just wait until you can slay your opponent with Drain Life spells. They'll pull out a Circle of Protection: Black on you too. At least with Karma, you could still win if you didn't take to long (or if you did something creative, like sacrifice your swamps away with Horror of Horrors, or put down a Kormus Bell and kill your swamps with a shot of Pestilence, something along those lines)
Other color-hosers during this era were nearly as bad: Hibernation, Perish, Douse, Scald, Boil, etc. Sweet Jesus, what were they THINKING?

Black, I am sorry to inform you of this, but you are now not apart of this duel. You may sit and watch, but for as long as the Light of Day is here, you cannot attack or block, so take the punishment, and hold your anger.
