You guys don't play limited at all, do you? This guy is an incredible mana fixer in sealed and draft, and not bad to hardcast either.

The Dual landcycling Creatures are supposed to be "bad". Their primary purpose is to fetch a land and fix your mana; but should your mana be fine, or if you draw this late game, it's got the flexibility of being a creature you can cast. Any decent strength hasty creature is a viable play when your opponent taps out and doesn't kill you. Great for limited, worth considering in Casual for the manafixing and emergency creature.

The problem is there are better ways to accel mana than simply fetch land, at which point a 6 mana creature that is basically a lightning elemental isn't what you want.

From my point of view this is a MOUNTAIN OR SWAMP tutor attached to something you can call a permanent. If you want mana fixing get a "basiclandcycling" instead. If you want a late game creature, get any red/black fattie better than this; be limited or not, you will probably find one easily.

Not all of those Dual landcyclers are bad... best is defintely Pale Recluse, but this one is also good, when combined with Unsummon or stl. And that artwork is perfect, i use it as a wallpaper.

Cycles even if you have two Tectonic Edges / Dread Statuaries / etc on the table; is a situational Lava Axe later in the game; surprises you and eats your Planeswalkers. Not bad at all! Perhaps somewhat overlooked for BR aggro, though not as stellar as Bituminous Blast. If BR aggro dredge ever exists before this rotates out, it'll probably be in it.

I figure if you are running Grixis, you cycle this and then unearth it later with Sedris, it's not that bad of a card at all. Not 5/5 by any means, maybe not even 4/5. But landfetch attached to a 5/1 late game in the right circumstances isn't bad.

I used this in casual w/ Lightning Talons and it was awesome late game.

This card isn't much good to many casual players who don't have very many cards, but to an experienced player who can use it right, it's amazing. 3/5
You guys are overlooking the fact that this particular mana fixer for RB happens to be attached to a creature. Not the best creature by any means, but what does black do easily and frequently? "Return target creature from graveyard to Hand/Battlefield." Either use a Raise Dead to cycle again if your mana is that shot, or return it to the battlefield. My RB deck loves the flexibility and versatility of this card.

I'm confused by the comments, did no one see living end cascade? The deck was beautiful and this card was a staple. It fixed and promised the mana the deck needed, plus once they cascaded into living end, he came out with the rest of the cyclers and pounded some face. I like the design, I think people are being too critical without seeing extraneous possibilities.

It fills two roles. It's better at the RB mana fixing than it is at being a creature, but it's nice to see what would be a swamp/mountain early game turn into a dangerous ambush late-game.

In a black deck, it is never bad to put a creature in a graveyard. Yeah there are beter creatures to reanimate but they usualy don't put themselves into the graveyrd, and it can always be used to tutor the lands and bump up other creatures that live off creatures in graveyards. Tutoring lands includes thining out your deck which is always a good thing. Also as said before, with living end deck its high enough to not be cascaded before living end and bringing out a 5/1 with hase is never bad when they don't have a chance to respond and probably have no blockers (unless they are sacing creatures themselves). Every card has a use, even defensive stance, even if it is just usualy outclassed by other cards.

Not sure why the low rating. This guy is solid. Can fetch a tasty nonbasic land such as blood crypt, at instant uncounterable mana. And if you topdeck him later on when your good on mana, can deal 5 damage to the face.

Your Sedris idea makes me wish I didn't trade away my Sedris, The Traitor King away for a stupid Platinum Emperion.

3.5/5 very solid card.
