Simply amazing card. Very useful in combat.

I've never seen a flavor text so true before.

Yes this card is also useful when a player wants to cast a fatass 6/6 that costs 6 and you tap a land so they can't play it. Or if they want to harm a faerie you can just tap a land if It can prevent the spell from hitting the board.

well, EnV, not quite sure that it would work that way. Unless they announce that they are going to be playing that spell later on, they could always just tap the lands before your pestermite hits the board. Only feasible way to stop a spell you know they have, and have exactly enough mana for, would be to drop this during their upkeep. But if you are flashing in a faerie to stop their ability to play spells, why not Mistbind Clique?

The kiki jiki mirror breaker and pestermite combo is killer. Kiki jiki taps and duplicates pestermite, and that new pestermite untaps kiki jiki, so he can duplicate pestermite again. This process is repetitive, and soon you could have 7 million pestermites to attack the opponent with.

Now meet Splinter Twin. Overpriced combo, of course, but amusing.

Pretty close to perfectly balanced while still being interesting and useful. Probably should have said to untap any "other" perm but I wouldn't exactly call the Splinter/Mite combo "broken" so it's fine.

Ignoring all of its stupid, degenerate combos, this card is easily one of the best, if not the best, common creatures of all time. One pestermite can completely ruin a combat step, or break a Sleep, or tap the land your opponent needed to drop a threat. Mistbind Clique can do some of those things, but not all of them.

People keep mentioning Splinter Twin. Don't forget his all-the-more-flavorful predecessor, Kik-Jiki.

I have a tendency to use this as a mini-Mistbind Clique turn 3, particularly against decks with more than one colour (can always lock one colour out turn 3 unless they have dual lands in play and untapped, and sometimes even then). Plus, it turns into champion fodder for the Clique too.

Much better than Deceiver Exarch.

Deceiver Exarch, Pestermite, Village Bell Ringer, and/or Midnight Guard + Kiki-Jiki and Splinter Twin. All of the colors you get to say NO with too. WUR controls :(
