Playable. I like the design space provided by blocking restrictions. You see white creatures with none at all, blue that only block fliers but are themselves efficient fliers, black creatures that can't block, red creatures that have haste and attack each turn if able, and green that really suck at dealing with fliers unless they have reach.

Anything that doesn't promote stalemates is fine with me, and this doesn't create stalemates.

I've found myself using this, in addition to Zephyr Sprite, in a deck where you really need the second turn hit and where Faerie is a relvant type. There's very little difference between the two, at least in my deck - certainly not enough to drop 2 stars.

Zephyr Sprite is strictly better, but this one is wearing sexy fishnet. so...

This card reminds me of the epic online mirror match I had with the Blue Duels of the Planewalker deck called "Thoughts of the Wind". The deck was essentially a control deck holding a bunch of counters, and very few creatures. The opponent I was playing was pro - one of the best matches I've ever had. Air Elemental was one of the few "bombs" of the deck, and we both strived hard to counter eachother. The match was full of epic creature exchanges and chump blocks. Board position was everything in that game.

It got so intense that we both sat back for what felt like 5 turns straight, both collecting mana and counters... waiting for the other one to make the first move. Because we knew that whoever got the next creature hit the board would have massive board advantage...

All was calm until my opponent cast a Cloud Sprite...

Me: Essence Scatter
Him: Cancel
Me: Negate
Him: Counterbore
Me: Cancel
Him: Negate

I lost a few turns later to that single Cloud Sprite... So epic.
