As a mono-red user, this card is bothersome to fight against.

Most of the time, I don't see this guy beeing worth it. Except maybe when you play a black-white deck with cards like Last Laugh and Pestilence. But any guy with protection form black does the same job.

Damn nicve together with Pariah though. Even if Stuffy Doll is to prefer in that case...

I agree--Dawn Elemental renders Cho Manno pretty much obsolete, especially if you are running a mono-white deck. Although several years ago, Cho Manno + Pariah did indeed make for an excellent combo.

Question: I have been playing magic for a few years, but I still can't figure this one out. Say your opponent is attacking with a 4/4 with trample, you block with cho-manno. Does the attacking creature deal you any damage? Trample means if a creature deals enough damage to kill a creature, then the rest is dealt to you, but cho manno is never dealt any damage. What happens?

@LukeMan: You're right, Cho-Manno is never dealt any damage. But you are. Trample works by assigning damage equal to the defending creature's toughness to the creature, then the rest to the player. So in your example, two damage would be assigned to the Cho-Manno (which is, of course, prevented) and two would trample over to you.

any card that says "destroy target creature" would kill this guy, destroy effects don't count as damage

well darkfury, while this is a great combo you can still kill someone through loss of life which is pretty easily accomplishable with a good vampire deck. so your not totally invincible.

So if you play an instant or sorcery :target creature gets -2/-2, this guy can be killed, right?

@darkfury Evacuation Everything in magic has an answer. You're also assuming you have enough time to get off a 4 card combo against an aggro deck or that your opponent doesn't counter any of the 4 spells you need to get that combo off. And even then all the player would have to do is Disenchant the greaves and Journey to Nowhere Path to Exile Swords to Plowshares the Cho-Manno, or the player could use Oblivion Ring on the greaves, bounce the O-Ring to their hand at the end of your turn with a Boomerang and toss it back down on the Cho-Manno. 2-card combos beating your 4 card combos is not what you want in a combo deck.

Ahhh, the first deck I ever played was in a tenth edition theme deck with both this and pariah. Good times, good times. (=

Like all of 10th Edition's alternate legend art, it's just better. He takes a stand against infect too, where regular indestructible falls.
