Thieving Magpie suits Blue's flavor perfectly and can flat out win games.

Use cards like Sage Owl or Ponder to see what's coming up, then attack with the magpie.

this is a good card cause it says when thieving magpie deals damage not combat damage.

Use this, then try saying it isn't an amazing draw engine. This thing is awesome.

Funny to use with Jace's Erasure... Milling Magpie incoming!

also not bad with Viridian Longbow, but I find it quite funny to imagine magpie shooting from a bow...

Soooo good. Too bad they nerfed Shadowmage Infiltrator and errata'd Fear to Intimidate, now we have to spend one more mana and go mono blue for decent evasion to get that damage to connect.

This is a great card because it fits so well with pretty much any blue deck. It's a great card for your opponent because s/he gets to exclaim, "Thieving Magpie!"

Murdered my friend solely with this and a Seething Anger...it was exceptionally rofl

@DacenOctavio, what are you talking about? Fear hasn't been errata'd at all. Creatures with fear, like the Shadowmage, still function exactly the same.

This is good if you're mono-blue, particularly in an era where 3 toughness was the magic number. Nowadays, I think it'd be a 2/4.

When cast, it is known as "flipping the bird" in my local playgroup.

When I play these in my decks, I usually end up with only a 3rd of my deck left, and I get enough control cards to make sure the magpie(s) can just keep on going. I've won games before entirely with magpie damage.

Threatens card advantage after a few swings. Fun staple card that is not overpowered.

Just found that this is directly or indirectly related to The Thieving Magpie Overture by Rossini on NPR. I always like the hidden gems in text or games.

This was my favorite creature of all time. Won lots of (albeit casual) games for me during the Urza's/Masques days.

I have fond memories of this card from my early days of Magic, and its still quite play-able today.

Its a stylish classic.
