Poor Finkel. It was a bit unfair really. I remember all eyes being on his printing in Time Spiral block - would he finally shine without that accursed Dr. Teeth? No, but he proved himself once again as a more-than-capable workhorse.

That crazy Finkel, he sure does like to draw cards.

Finkel, Finkel. How great you were, yet your card never really shined.
Nonetheless, its been one of my favorite creatures since day 1 when I started playing MTG : Blue-Black was always my most beloved color combo, and hard-to block creatures with nasty abilities upon connecting have always been my favorites. Hypno says hello.

This card is amazing. I don't see how it never really shined.

I wish the SHADOWmage infiltrator had SHADOW instead of fear, but Jon is lucky that he got a a more flattering illustration here than poor Bob did.

Dear Wizards, please reprint! How about in Innistrad? Thank you!

This guy infiltrated his way onto a dating site, and got rejected by some girl for playing Magic. Poor man. He's better off without her.

I guess she wants to marry for love, rather than the gobs of money Finkel gets from the hedge fund he manages. Maybe she wanted someone with a more winning smile.

Also, the card is awesome.

@GengilOrbios
It's the other way around, Mask of Riddles is the equipment form of Shadowmage.

Have a Timeshifted one. Use it in my U/B control, as a little extra draw.

Can anyone list me the other cards that involve real-players like this one?

Check out this page. After Dark Confidant, there's been Snapcaster Mage.

Kind of odd that he wasn't reprinted in Ravnica, isn't it? Dimir loves this kind of library interaction.

I don't want to quit my crappy day job to go pro with Magic, it's probably too risky, but I do envy those that have achieved immortality in cardboard form.

Strong evasion and threatens card advantage. Nearly forces opponents to spend removal on him.
