The classic example of new art being infinitely worse than old art. Plus a bad card.

Well... It looks more like a boar than a wolf.
It's a Mosquito Guard without Reinforce ability.

Probably one of my least liked arts, this wolf's head looks way too big, the whole thing just looks weird.
Decent card for casual play.

Wow, Quniton Hoover is wondering how in the hell his artwork was replaced by this monstrosity. That is a wolf?!?!

I like this card as a 1 drop, but I'd never use this version because of the picture, lol.

true opener for white-weenie, love this card. always been a fav of mine, even if played against.

I just realized this is the only wolf that looks like it could be a 2/2 to match Bears. It's weaker than the typical wolf in Magic. -_-

Not many one drops can fit an entire leg in their face, what silly art.

This is a solid card, but the problem with 1 mana creatures, especially white ones, that are only "solid" is that you can only play so many in a deck, and there are so many that are far beyond just "solid."

But the art is a freaking trainwreck. How about the wolves that look like wolves not viewed through a fisheye lens.

Downvoted for the ugly art.

Boros Recruit can be played in two colors and has a more useful tribal type.

A one mana 1/1 with first strike is great. However there are other cards that do this much better.

His head looks similar to that of Lhurgoyf. Also, one wolves. Good job.

The original Tundra Wolves had some of the most fitting art in all of Magic. But this.. this is an insult.

AWESOME artwork... although it looks more like a prehistoric Entelodont (Terminator Pig) than it does a wolf... still, very awesome.

Don't hate me for this, but I actually like the art of this one. Yeah, it looks more like some kind of prehistoric monstrosity than a modern day wolf, but do you guys remember why Runeclaw Bear was printed? - because the animal life of Magic is supposed to differ from that of the real world. Mana could have affected the wolves of Dominaria and made them evolve/mutate into this, just sayin'

This was a staple of every single white weenie deck out there, and quite a few other white decks too, until the printing of Mosquito Guard.

I'll still throw down with the wolves, but the guard has a bonus ability AND a stronger tribal type.

The art is just awful. The old art was great. What the moose, Wizards?

Quite useful in ridding your opponents of their Elite Vanguards...but...that is a rat, not a wolf. A rat with a weird body.

I'm glad this is white.
I"m planning on making a wolf deck now that innistrad added a bunch of new options.
Without this, I couldn't justify using watchwolf.

actually, not that bad. Normally, this would probably be red, I'd say. Its a good 1 drop for white, thats for sure.

BUT, you can do better, with said Mosquito Guard.

@Anubisisking: Haha, it does indeed look like an entelodont! In fact, when I saw this card for the first time, I can remember that it reminded me of Andrewsarchus, the (possibly) biggest carnivoran mammal to have ever existed! Of course, as a wolf, this illustration is completely unfitting...

Wizards must have a thing for naming things plural and then not making the art coincide with the name.
