This is a bastardization of 2 mechanics. Of course a black player is going to have cards in hand. Ask Necropotence.

It's not terrible, but it would have been better had it been awesome.

I love when Shadow can be toggled. It's a fun mechanic, but the inability to block non-Shadows is a pain, especially if you really need a blocker of some type. Trespasser il-Vec and this are both very hand because they can be either practically unblockable high power creatures, or excellent deterrents. Anything with a toughness of four or less quakes in fear of this little lady, and when you've had your share of spells, she sneaks up on your opponent and proceeds to eviscerate him.

This is a great chick to toss a taste for mayhem on.

This, and Tresspasser il-vec in a madness deck. Big game hunter and Dark Withering for creature control.

Curves nicely into Shadow Slice

In set, Oblivion Crown is a very nice Hellbent enabler. Pump her up like a Shade, and discard your hand. Lovely little combo.
