Well, if you're playing in a regular counter deck without any use of your graveyard, this is basically just a counterspell with a unimportant side-effect.. Terrible layout, though O.o

Amazing card, 5/5. It's Mana Leak, but better.

I'm really surprised this isn't more popular... it really can function just like a regular counterspell in mid and late game, and counterspell decks usually don't care a jot for the graveyard... Who wouldn't want an extra player set of 2 to cast counters? Especially if it only sets you back $0.40.

Cool card, but definitely not one of the better counterspells.

Five Stars. This card is very very underrated. It's essentially the opposite of mana leak- it's hard to use early game, but gets way more powerful the longer you play. I think people who rate this low have never played against it. It functions like a hard counter most of the time.

If I'm understanding this card right, it's actually better than counterspell in some situations because it protects you from cards like Suffer the Past and other black shenanigans. Also, when is your opponent going to have extra mana left to counter your counter when playing important spells - almost never. MInimally, you'll need three mana or 2 mana and an exiled card to play this which is pretty reasonable. I'm going to have to play with it more to really see how it works though.

The way I see it, it's certainly no Counterspell, but it still seems pretty darn good! "Delve" is an interesting mechanic, and they have managed to make a very interesting card with it!

A reason to not run recursion. Hmm...

A better Mana Leak?

Yeah right... I'd rather have Cancel. So many decks now run graveyard hate due to the strength of dredge, Tarmogoyf, reanimater and so many other archetypes. Which actually comes to the second point why this card is sub-par; if you have enough cards in your graveyard to use this effectively and you're not using your graveyard as a resource, then you're leaving a lot of resources on the table.

LOTS of better counterspells.

great one-of in any control deck. first time you cast it'll be a counterspell. with the bonus of clearing your grave to weaken tarmogoyf.

@begle one
Who MB's or even sides in enough grave hate to neuter one counter?

Scary. If you're all about silly graveyard play, this isn't for you. If you don't care about your graveyard and just wanna cause some chaos for an opponent, a very interesting counterspell.

This is a mind game card. You don't want to play the mind game? Don't base your deck on blue. However if you can't play the mind game against a mind game deck most of the time you will lose.

Hang on a sec. The three Delve cards (Tombstalker, Logic Knot, Death Rattle) are all in {U}/{B}. Innistrad has demonstrated {U}/{B} self-mill decks. Could we be seeing Delve as a later block mechanic designed to fit well for those decks? It would allow self-mill to make use of milled land by throwing it out to cast Tombstalkers...

EDIT: Nope. Sadface.
