Once upon a time, artifact destruction was the domain of red, then white, then green. Red had Shatterand Shatterstorm. White had Disenchant. Green had this little number. From a standpoint of mana cost, Crumble is clearly the most efficient, but is it worth the life gain you're giving your opponent? Surely an early game Crumble against your opponent's Sol Ring, Ornithopter, Ivory Tower, or Black Vise would be VERY cost effective. But do you really want to give your opponent 4 life in the mid game to destroy his Rod of Ruin?

Great one-shot removal card which can be used to gain life for yourself in a pinch. More flexible than Oxidize, but has a drawback in that if used offensively your opponent gains life.

3.5/5

The drawback is not different from Swords to Plowshares drawback, so why give Crumble less than 5/5?

Use in an infect deck?

@tavaritz Because for 1 colorless more in green you get the same effect, but more versatile (works on enchantments too) without the drawback. White has to pay 2 white more to lose the drawback, it's very different.
