Indeed, aside from Azorius Æthermage this is the only card yet that triggers on "self-bounce". Although i'd still prefer Chain of Vapor over Rescue most of the time, especially with this fellow.

White's "Rescue" creatures are really good. This one and Dust Elemental ae the best, though.
What if the only creatures you have on the field when this card is played are 1/1 white soldier tokens? Does just this card get kicked back creating another token or does one of the tokens have to be destroyed?

Return 0 drops to your hand and then just plop back out?
Return one of those "comes into play" cards back into your hand? Keeping bouncing this bastard with Venser and keep dropping those Thopter/Memnites?
These guys plus Shrieking Drake and some nice untapped Islands are guaranteed token trollin'. Works fine with Ninjutsu, too.

Absolutely love the flavour on this one. Think about it - they're like heli-borne air assault infantry! They fly in on their griffin chariot (or whatever), rescue soldiers, and deploy some more!!
If you have a soft spot for Soldier tribal like me, these guys are a total flavour win, and not too bad on their own. Bounce your Captain of the Watch so she can go pick up more troops. Have your Benalish Commander go back to the future to gather more reinforcements. Air frickin' cav, welcome to MtG!

MAYBE.
Whitemane Lion & Stonecloaker can be cast and returned to your hand for tokens.
