How can this card be an uncommon? It could get away with being a Mythic rare!
Just play a Murderous Redcap and a sacrifice outlet, such as Nantuko Husk. Infinite damage. You can also play Kitchen Finks and gain infinite life.

A better way to take advantage is to use Goblin Bombardment. That way it works with any creature that has persist.

READ!!... Juniper Order Ranger and Sigil Captain adds +1/+1 counters, not remove it. So please stop with this infinite combo that will get newbies started. Logic invalid.

Maybe you should review the rulings for persist Hokeymon...
This is a shockingly overlooked card IMHO!

@Hokeymoon: It's not an "infinite combo" per-se. But if a creature has both a -1/-1 counter and a +1/+1 counter, they will both be removed as a state based effect. Therefore the creature will persist again when it is next put into a graveyard.

Aside from persist, this combos great with token generators. Rite of replication, Landbind Ritual, Cobra Trap, the various wolfmakers, its all fun.

Juniper Order Ranger + Murderous Redcap + Blasting Station = slightly faster infinite combo. Of course, if they have an artifact destroying instant this is less viable than using a sacrifice creature such as Nantuko Husk, but then, most players are going to have creature spot removal (for the husk) rather than artifact spot removal for the Blasting Station.

This card is amazing in combination with Pollenbright Wings.

In addition to hokeymoon's statement, the creature with persist that just came back into play, is now untapped, with no -1/-1 counters, and ready to block if needed.

Juniper Order Ranger + Mycoloth + Followed Footsteps + Paradox Haze + Contagion Clasp.
There's nothing like having a gigantic horde of 5/5 Saprolings and several four-digit/four-digit creatures all on your team and then sweetening the kill with a Fist of Ironwood.

Maybe General Jarkeld the Arctic Fox was named after one of these beasts rather the rather pitiful card Arctic Foxes.

5/5. I totally wanted to run this guy in my Saproling EDH deck, but I had Savra as my general. Now that Ghave, Guru of Spores is at the helm, this guy is a shoe-in. Sure, Sigil Captain is great, but if you have anything like Eldrazi Monument or Gaea's Anthem out, the Captain is worthless. THIS guy, however, doesn't care how big your creatures are. I don't care where I'm pulling counters from, as long as I have counters to pull!

Play this guy before your other creatures.

I stole this in a commander game and slapped that Aura that produces a Saproling every upkeep. Good times.
