How the hell is this card under a 2?! Instantly making any creature flying for 1B can be a game winning move.

I almost always run my Blue decks with at least one of these.

It can be useful certainly, but not so much so that it would be a mainstay card.

Ah, Jump. One of the original combat tricks.

Jump is made for earthquakes.

WHY DID THEY REPRINT THIS FOR SO LONG!?

Grossly underpowered by modern standards, and shaky even back in the day.

I have no idea how this jank card saw reprints for so many years when it was clearly outclassed.

Gaussgoat...While I agree that this is fairly useful, it most certainly does NOT cost {1B} as you think.

holy shit you could use this to stop red field wipes like earthquake, however thats a shaky proposition.
Only use for this card is making monkeys fly so they can attack your enemy and steal their shoes

When I was but a wee Magic player in 1994, I scoffed at Jump. For the exact same cost, I could give my creatures flying permanently with Flight. But Jump provided me with something Flight never could - the element of surprise. Getting attacked by a Serra Angel or Sengir Vampire is never much fun, unless you have a Sea Serpent in play and a Jump in your hand. The real problem with Jump isn't that it isn't useful. It's that it's blue. Most of blue's most useful creatures all ready fly. In a multi-colored blue and green deck, Jump becomes much better.

And for that element of surprise, I could probably at least allot a slot in an EDH deck for this. You never know.

Might as well jump.

Inspired by the Van Halen song.
