Control Magic is a powerful spell. For four mana, you can take your opponent's best creature. Black mages are particularly susceptible to Control Magic, as they are unable to destroy enchantments - not to mention the fact that they have trouble dealing with black creatures (they can't Terror a black creature). White can easily deal with Control Magic with Disenchant, and green can do similarly with Tranquility. Red has Red Elemental Blast and blue has Unsummon.

Combine this card with Jump and watch your opponent's face as his 12/12 zombie soars over his battle line and crashes directly into him, hahah.

SUCH a good answer to the usual "summon gigantic creature you don't have and kill you with it" strategy that many decks employ. At a paltry 4CC, you can swipe virtually anything that doesn't have shroud or prot blue.

This is exactly why a card like Despotic Scepter could come in handy. Despotic allows you to bury a card you own, but you don't have to control that card.

My best friend who always hated Magic made fun of this card, stating it must be the most powerful one in the game as it obviously allowed you to control the entire game.

In the last sentance does if refer to the enchantment being destroyed or the creature. because it could be taken either way.
