Kinda reminds me of the god warrior from Nausicaä :P
Although if that was the case, it's stats would look more like Darksteel colossus' :P

If you put him next to carnophage, they have a shouting match

The teeth seem impractical for eating, maybe it is for show like in megatog.

In theory, better than Carnophage.
In practice...

I think it latches onto it's victim like a monitor lizard, hanging on until its teeth saw through flesh and bone.

I've play-tested these in my Suicide Black deck - absolutely horrendous. More times than not you've got them tapped because you can't afford to lose the two life, or you can't deal enough damage per turn to not worry about losing the two life.

Not even in theory, actually. It would be better than Carnophage if it had been a 4/4 for BB for 2 life loss, or a 3/3 for BB with 1 life loss. Carnophage is good for his 2 for 1 ratio, damage and cc. Sangrophage has a 1.5 for 1 ratio with the same variables. Strictly worse than Carnophage at first glance.

EDIT: Just another "Eon Hubber".

@Carnophage_4ever - I agree, except not STRICTLY better. Please learn what that means, or just say better.

Should've been a 4/4. It doubles Carnophage's mana cost and upkeep cost, why not complete the effect with P/T? Barrow Ghoul is a 4/4 zombie for 2 CMC...

It's Carnophage's unsuccessful older brother

Each Time Spiral card was an homage to at least one previously printed card.

This card references Carnophage, which means "flesh-eater" whereas Sangrophage means 'blood-eater."

It's a Modern legal zombie, a 3/3 for 2, and run in a proper non-suicide black deck, he's just enough suicide that you should be concerned, but not enough to break the bank. Ran next to other efficient zombies (Geralf's for instance) and he can put lots of pressure on early game, as soon as he's irrelevant just let him be Carrion Feeder food.

There are better 2-drops for sure, but for a budget, pauper, or similar; a 3/3 for 2 with a doable drawback is fine. I think that for putting your opponent on a 6 turn clock that many 3-drops can't win the fight against, is a big deal. There are many many many 2-power creatures out there; but the number of creatures with 3+ power at 1, 2, 3 or even 4 mana are much lower; especially in blue, white, and black. This guy will generate card advantage or deal a few bolts worth of damage.

Carnophage is outdated for the most part now; he already competed with Sarcomancy; but this guy? How many 3/3+ zombies do you know of for 2 mana? In aggro zombies, this guy is still usable, and I stand by that.

That said, not a 4-of. Run as a 2 or 3 of so his upkeep is managable.

This card uses the kind of artwork that highly intensifies your feelings towards one extreme.
It's some vile and ugly angry monster that you can either take seriously or not, depending on what the card does.

In this case due to its mediocrity, you take a look at it and hate it, thinking "what a stupid Carnophage wannabe."
Now imagine this as a 4/4. You'd be like "Damn, Carophage's big brother is such a badass! Look at that attitude!"
