I think this card would be cool in burn decks. Too bad you need green mana for it. Still pretty good, continuous burn card.

Play with cards with madness.

Too risky discarding at random.

Pretty wild in draft. Once you run out of normal gas, this is like a more flexible retrace where you get to convert any card you top-draw into a shock as needed.

Seems like it'd be fun with Harmonize and Browbeat. And you're never sad to draw an extra copy!

Odd how racy essence vortex is yet no one comments about this card.

Say I'm topdecking and have future sight in play...can I use my revealed topdeck card with this? Future sight does say play as though it were in your hand...

@Tetsu_tora
Sadly, you cannot.
Future Sight only allows you to play (cast) the card of the top of your library as though it were in your hand.
609.4. Some effects state that a player may do something “as though” some condition were true or a creature can do something “as though” some condition were true. This applies only to the stated effect. For purposes of that effect, treat the game exactly as if the stated condition were true. For all other purposes, treat the game normally.
Therefore, you may only cast the card that's on the top of your library since it does not allow to discard the top card of your library as though it were in your hand. You cannot use it for any other purpose. To clarify that discarding a card as a cost implies only discarding a card you have in your hand:
701.7a To discard a card, move it from its owner’s hand to that player’s graveyard.
Future Sight does not put the card in your hand nor let you use that card for discarding, so you can't use Future Sight for this purpose. I think your confusion arises from a small distinction. Future Sight says you may 'play' (cast) a card from the top of your deck; it does not say you play the game as though the card were in your hand.

Play Stormbind, empty your hand, fill it with Life From the Loam and shoot lands at your opponents every turn.

@Kontrah Seismic Assault is probably the better plan for that since activating it costs no mana.

Not sure I like random discard here. 2/5

@Kryptnyt: You said Seismic AssAult would be a more viable option than this while using Life from the loam but I would disagree with that because Seismic is more mono red. You're right in that, in a perfect world w/perfect land draw it's the better pound for pound play, but realistically the bind + life of the loam makes more sense :)
