Getting rid of creatures by destroying rather than burning them is something seen only rarely in red, but the ability itself has clearly some red flavour.
Yet unless you have a way to regenerate the creature targeted by your opponent, make it indestructible or give it wither, this card is not that playable. And trying to do so might not be worth it either.
On the other hand, you could play her as your only creature, then destroying an opponent's theat each turn might be appealing.

^^If this were your only creature your opponent would just target this, hehe. Now if she had shroud then it could work.

Red's a color that doesn't mind losing its minor creatures if its important ones are safe. As long as Diaochan and your major attacker are protected, go ahead and use her. Or you can play two-color and give all creatures you control shroud. Or play Diaochan in multiplayer and use her ability only when the opponent is more likely to choose another player's creature to kill then one of yours. After all, nowhere does it say the opponent who gets to destroy a creature has to be the one whose creature was destroyed.

Or use Grave Pact to make every use of her a two-for-one.

Wow, in a 3player EDH this could be brutal for ganging up 2on1, in a temporary alliance to stop a player from dominating the game. Very nice political creature.

In one on one, this card isn't great, in multiplayer (I.E. EDH) its hillariously awesome as long as you have someone on your side, or at least someone who doesnt want to see it dead yet. "I'll kill your Copperhoof Vorrac and whatever my friend wants dead too.

She looks more like Discochan.

She seems like a fine card, possibly even making Mono-Red EDH just-viable.
She's certainly welcome in all sorts of R/U/x builds.

They're reprinting her in Commander's Arsenal. I looked her up on SCG, and she doesn't seem very expensive for a Portal card, just incredibly rare. It looks to me like Commander's Arsenal won't exactly flop, but it with 7/10 Oversized cards spoiled as of this post, only Sliver Queen might raise eyebrows, and so far I can't find anyone but me interested in her. :(

And with 10/18 Normal-Sized cards known, it looks like Blue and Black have basically been given the shaft over Green, Red and White are getting Portal Cards, and other than Sylvan Library, Command Tower, and Silver Queen, the box is as good as From the Vault: Legends. Which isn't spectacular, just 'oh, these are nice to have in foil', plus Progenitus is decent value.

So can anyone tell me, does the announcement of a Foil, regular-sized Daiochan sound AMAZING to you, "Great, it's Foil and Modern Framed!" to you, or "Not any better than Chaos Warp" to you?

Just slap Lightning Greaves on it and are ready to go.

Getting a reprint in a hyper limited print run set is almost worse than simply remaining unreprinted...
This card is pretty awesome though

This is quite a flavorful card. (SPOILERS) In the Three Kingdoms story, Diaochan was an undercover agent sent by one of Dong Zhuo's enemies. Her main goal was to create a sense of distrust between Dong Zhuo and his trusted right hand man, Lu Bu. She created a love triangle so intense that Lu Bu eventually killed Dong Zhuo.
