If you're playing Simic, best answer to Esper.

three-drop 2/3 flyer with optional Naturalize if it gets through - what more could you want?

I like this card but at the same time I feel you can get so much artifact and enchantment removal that you have to want to replace another creature in your deck to use this. I got aura shards out of a booster pack, and then I compared it with this card, and I realized aura shards is a lot better. You can get the use of aura shards with tokens, it activates anytime your creature reaches the field rather than damages your opponent, and isn't necessarily quite as easy to get rid of (you can't simply lightning bolt an enchantment for example). However, if you're playing against esper, or playing a simic heavy deck, it certainly doesn't hurt.

Very efficient, and with a useful ability to boot!

It's brilliant in EDH too! Probably more so than in other formats!

Powerful and undeniably cool. I run 4 of these in simic and they don't really fit with the strategy, but they're still dangerous. 5/5, not including the art, name and flavor which are all awesome too.

Awesome creature, but is it really better than that three-mana 2/3 flying vampire with lifelink and deathtouch? Artifacts have become part of many players' mana base, and enchantments have become more important lately as permanant removal or victory condition, too! :) Liquimetal Coating turns permanents into artifacts..

Amazing in Vintage. Swinging for 2 and crippling their manabase, plus 3 toughness gets around Fire // Ice, which is the only removal I seem to see around here any more

They could have just easily printed it at 2GreenBlue... but, here's the crazy part: THEY DIDN'T

I put them in most of my BlueGreen decks. Much of the time they are "merely" an aggressive flying beater. When my opponents are playing artifacts or enchantments, they earn back their cost with interest.

Have you all forgotten about Caustic Wasps? This guy can't regenerate with Swarmyard.

It's so strange to see a manta ray with legs.

Incidentally, this destroys the Trigon cycle from Scars of Mirrodin.

A repeatable Naturalize for my Momir Vig EDH deck? Sign me up!

@Drewsel: This guy beats Caustic Wasps hands down. 2/3 instead of 1/1 is a huge difference for the same CMC, and the Predator can hit enchantments.

Ah, good old Trygon Predator. This epitomizes GreenBlue: weird creatures that reward you with board/card advantage. It's efficiently costed, can attack and block in the air, and it munches on pesky artifacts and enchantments. And it's a flying manta ray with legs. A salute to Simic power!

Good news: It looks like this is going to be in Modern Masters. Bad news: Each color dyad only gets one gold card, so we're not getting modern-frame Mystic Snake yet. (sulk)

Can be run without any blue if you use Green Sun's Zenith. He can fight off a variety of problem creatures and then go eat annoying permanents.

4.5/5 from me. Repeatable card advantage and type-hate on a creature means you can pack more aggro into a deck.
