Sigh...my theory on Hellbent is that if you have it, the spell should be above average, because it sux having nothing in hand. It should be a big bonus, like this should give something -5/-5 or something really good
The followers of Rakdos are really pretty retarded.......

Hellbent usually works when it activates while casting or a static ability. Demon's Jester is a decent Hellbent card because you can somewhat control the Hellbent-ness, giving you the chance to do all kinds of combat tricks. For example, if you had one card in your hand (let's say Shock) and your opponent was going to attack with a 5/5 flyer (Serra Angel is a good example). Expecting just a 2/2 flying blocker, they don't think too much of it. However, to empty your hand, you cast Shock. This would make Jester into a 4/3, which can then kill Serra Angel when blocking. Limited gold!
The problem here is that Hellbent activates once, and not at a time that you can control as well. Sometimes your opponent won't block-to-kill it; sometimes they will kill it when you have 2+ cards in your hand; sometimes they'll consider killing it when they have no creatures in play, forcing you to target your own creature.
Long story short, it's a decent limited card, but it's by no means good. 2.5/5, where 1 star comes from the art.
