The magnificent structure of this court will one day spread the radiant light of righteousness upon the land and destroy the evil that plagues it. The one day the entire world will be as noble as the Temple Garden.

Will somebody please clarify how this is either a plains or a mountain? I'll give you a cookie if you can show me how. For that matter how can a mountain and plains exist in the same land!? They are opposites! It's like saying a desert ocean....that would be a cool land though.

I don't see Plains and Mountains as opposites.. There are many desert areas with plenty of mountainous terrain, usually accompanied by a large amount of plainsland. One example is Kah-Nee-Ta in Oregon.

As has been said, deserts are perfect examples of a blending of Mountains and Plains. They are essentially plains made of pieces of rock/ mineral, and there is little transition between rugged spire and white waste in the desert. Also, they are plains...that are hot.

That said, the pictured land is far from a desert.

You guys are all missing the point. This card is from Ravnica, where the entire plane is one giant city with no untouched natural spots left. Thus all the lands, basic and nonbasic, are depicted as urban structures associated with their color. Look at Overgrown Tomb - a tomb is not a swamp, but it unmistakably conveys black.

Classy, Moe. Classy.

I'd love to own a set of the whole cycle of these cards for the art alone. They're all gorgeous. Seems like the enemy color ones pop a little more, though. Don't know why.

So these cards are awesome because no matter what you can have them come into play tapped, and with fetches, well boy howdy you can fetch em annnd the come into play tapped. Which is awesome, except to fetch and untap thats three life, which usually isn't a problem. However, I was watching some games where it would be like zoo versus zoo, and these guys would shoot themselves down to like 14 or 11 just fetching these lands. I understand life is not the most valuable resource, but it is still important and should be considered. Just play a couple basics.

Awesome with Wild Nacatl. Makes the Nacatl more flexible, but not flexible enough to escape the banhammer.

I love the art on this one. Although the art is awesome on all of them.

Works with Wild Nacatl and in a Coalition Victory deck.

Also, achilleselbow is right: look at all Ravnica forest arts and you will see.

Plateau beats desert for fitting the "Mountain-Plains" role, but this card is pretty cool.
