I'd rather have a Stone Rain.

Why the severely low rating? He's not great, but I could totally see myself running him in Limited, where a 3/3 can win you games. The ability to block and sac to something even bigger makes him easier to justify for me.

the point is you're paying 5 for a 3/3. thats terrible. not imo.
And his sacrifice cost should be free. Who says you'll have the R to pay? You probably will but it doesn't justify the weakness in the CMC and the low power level of half the set in general. Although, it is my favorite set and block :)

He was much better before M10 rules. Not tournament worthy, but not a bad option in a LD deck for the cost conscious. However, with the current rules, he's god-awful. Grave-shell Scarab suffered the same fate, as well as Shambling Shell.

Should be an ETB ability, for 5 mana.

At the time you play this (late game) mana shouldn''t be an issue. So it is pretty much useless.

Ravnica has bouncelands, so he gains some value in that format. Not a lot, but some.

Yes, it's a bad card, but you have to admit, this plus Rings of Brighthearth sounds pretty devastating, and it's positively bursting with flavour!

5 mana for 3/3 = terrible.
Pay to destroy target land, pretty poor at 6 total mana.

Though I could see an evil combo with mimic vat. Then again your probably better off with acidic slime.

I've been playing too much EDH probably, but when I see a card like this I just wish it had 2 power instead of 3 so I could break it with Reveillark... oh well there's always Avalanche Riders
