It's cute but not quite good enough IMHO and it hurts to pull this as the rare in a booster pack.

I wish he was a 1/4 or even a 0/4. If he could stand the bolt he would be so much better.
It works well in a U/W deck that focuses on slowing down the opponents.

Kismet on legs! Slowing your opponent's tempo is great, especially since white is the color of big, expensive finishers.
However, getting to 4 mana is slow in itself...

Kind of a letdown. Worse than Kismet as a lockdown, since creatures are much more easily removed than enchantments, and not big enough to be much use as a creature either.

This card would probably annoy the hell out of your opponents. You would think they would give this card a bigger toughness than 3. Oh yeah and i cant believe this card is a rare.

In WW decks, just use Honor of the Pure. In everywhere else, Lightning Greaves is still a card. Bolt need not be the end.

I agree with comments. I’m not angry at the 2/3 P/T but definitely feel it would make things just a bit more feisty as a 1/4. Then again, if it’s worth trying to get a 4 casting cost creature on the board with this much effect, we’d probably be prepared to have him protected in some kind of way or another. Once again, its effects are juicy for lockdown. 4 stars if you’re specifically working the card into your theme, could also be on that soldier army and have reduced casting cost, but overall 3 ½ stars, especially if you’re generally trying to fit it in because of its cool effects. Another way to think about it is like this: would you draft it if it came your way? If I was drafting white I would have no worries taking this card. Now if I wasn’t drafting white, might I still take this card if I felt I didn’t have enough options to not get screwed by it in play? Like you guys say, at 3 toughness this card doesn’t strike that automatic fear in an opponent. Could end up just a moderate stall if you consider that most creatures have summoning sickness anyway, etc. Ok, opponent loses some tap effects of artifacts and land immediately played.

Card of the Day, February 5, 2013,
Kismet on a stick here is third best anthropomorphic elephant in Magic, I'd say. Right after Loxodon Hierarch at #1 and Loxodon Smiter at #2. But according to today's arcana these guys are no longer keeping the gates, so the gates "got all crashed." And I choose not to believe the fact that the flavor text is a fart joke.
