One of the more cost-efficient Arcbounds, but does not deserve uncommon.

Use any of the variety of "produce any color of mana cards" to generate purple for a 6/6 modular! :P

You can get pink and brown if you play the unsets, which would be beast.

I've never exactly liked Sunburst, but! As a design geek, I love the idea of welding two keywords together like this. Synergy!

Even costed at 5 it would be too weak. Modular really needed more efficient creatures. Arcbound worker was about right, as was arcbound overseer, but everything inbetween was pretty poor except the ridiculous Ravager.

The problem with sunburst is that it means everything must cost 5 to get maximum efficiency. {W}{U}{B}{R}{G}{1} for a 5/5 modular just isn't worth it. You could get Fusion Elemental, Maelstrom Archangel, or any of a number of other powerful WUBRGs for less.
Edit: @Kryptnyt: True, but I would still rather have a Maelstrom Archangel at WUBRG than a 7/7 Frogmite at 1WUBRG.

@scissorslizard The powerful aspect of Modular is that you can stack them when they die. When Maelstrom Archangel dies you are left with nothing. When this dies you have a 7/7 frogmite. EDIT: You mean, you'd rather have an angel in the graveyard than a giant frogmite on the table, beating face. I'll admit though, if you build your deck to abuse the angel, she can be really strong. Fusion Elemental can't say the same, but I'll say that Arcbound wanderer CAN say the same.

great idea, but a bit overcosted.

I hope one day Wizards prints more Modular creatures. Sure, we missed out in Scars of Mirrodin, but there's always a chance a Mirrodin 3 / New Phyrexia 2 set or a Planechase product could bring them back. There are only 12 modular creatures, and this guy is unfortunately one of them.

Modular and Sunburst together? Cool idea, poor execution. Would have been 4/5 worthy had it cost — Fusion Elemental costs and is an 8/8, so a 5/5 that gives +5/+5 to another creature when it dies seems fair. That extra takes away two stars from the rating, since the difference between five mana and six could be the difference between winning and losing. 2/5

At 6 its bad for flavor and gameplay. 5 would have been really strong.
