If you use this card to turn a creature an opponent controls into an artifact then destroy that artifact can you then pay to turn him back into a creature before he enters the graveyard?

The artifact thing is cool, but don't forget that this is basically Leonin Scimitar that can jump or become a creature at instant speed.
