Great Art. Would love to see a limited foil version.
The only real 'bad' thing is the two-fer against you with the dizzied land..but...the card is so good it doesn't really matter.

my fav first turn play goes island, mox diamond, drop a crystalline sliver... from that, the slivers own all...

I always thought this was pretty expensive, as in money, but it's awesome regardless, since compared to other cards, it's not. (Hehe, I'm relatively new, so forgive me.) Anyways, have you seen the From the Vaults: Relics set coming out in August I think? Do you think this might be in there?

My favorite first turn with it is mox diamond, pitching plains, then land tax. :)

You can even combo with Sorrow's Path for a real use for Sorrow's Path!
Now if that's not broken I don't know what is!

The oracle wording and ruling is to prevent people from dropping Mox Diamond and tapping it before it gets sacrificed for not paying the triggered cost. Same deal with Lotus Vale; wording got all changed up when the rules about triggered abilities got changed.

I never liked this or chrome mox drawback. Ive never been a tourney player either. I guess its great with card draw, to replace the lost cards and still be ahead of your opponent.

Almost as good as the original moxes... although it is limited to somewhat less decks than the original moxes. The originals go in pretty much every deck. However, there are a number of Vintage decks that run very few lands, making it more difficult to play the Mox Diamond.

Sadly this and Chrome Mox are card disadvantage. They might speed you up a bit but it's effectively like mulliganning to 6. That's why neither see much play while Mox Opal sees plenty because that's not card disadvantage.

Card advantage isn't the Holy Grail of MtG. Card advantage helps tremendously but when the benefits of throwing away a card outweigh the card disadvantage, throwing the card is the right thing to do. You can ask my good friend Force of Will what he thinks about card advantage/disadvantage.
For the formats where the original moxen are banned, this is one of the few remaining mana accelerators. And in the right decks, throwing a land doesn't matter in the long run if it can be recurred.
