I'm 99% certain that when they were doing the Great Type Update, and some Wizards employee came across this card as part of the process, he realized he had to make this a rigger just to mess with people.

@Paolino It doesn't really combo with Yawgmoth Demon. Something that combos with it would give it an artifact to eat every turn. It does go well with Yawgmoth Demon though, if you've already got a bunch of artifacts or something that produces them.

Good card, in all seriousness. Obviously pales in comparison to Disciple, but it's Fun in Esper Shenannigans. Hell, You could run it in a Ghave,Guru of Spores EDH with something like mycosynth lattice if you really wanted to play a rigger.

This is great, because you can use your other riggers to assemble contraptions, then sacrifice the contraptions to put +1/+1 counters on him.
