This card is pretty good. Its nowhere near the level of Knighthood. But it is an excellent creature for causing misplays. Mostly since there are so many creatures with formatting similiar to this card that only give themselves first strike. Assuming you have an army of weenies and enough mana, its quite tricky to notice this single guy that can make your entire army first strikers. Amazing with Reconnossiance in Block. 2/5 though overall.

It's good!.... If you love first strike. About a 2.5/5, I suppose.

What do you mean IF we love first strike?
Its probably the most single broken ability in the game.
The only way to combat it is to have first strike yourself, a much bigger army that you don't mind losing a lot of, or be lucky enough to have protection of the right colour.
I'd say that removal works too, but it's only close to viable in board-whiping form.
As for this particular card, I think its usefulness really comes for non-soldier decks, as soldier decks are generally sorted for first strike anyway.

@ Psyklone: First strike is indeed broken; if you get a large enough horde of small first-strikers, you can take down anything by multi-blocking. What I object to about what you said is that you said that first strike is THE most broken ability in the game. Dead wrong. Double strike is the most broken. It's everything first strike is PLUS your creatures deal damage twice. There's not even any debate to be had. If they printed this card except that it had and could bestow double strike, it would be incredibly broken. As is, it's merely pretty darn good.

Anybody not in love with this card has clearly never made a white weenie deck.

Nice, but unless you're planning to abuse provoke effects or the Reconnaissance combo (after the first strike damage step) the only real use for this is as a solid 2 drop in soldier tribal.
However, if you want soldiers, for {W} you could have:
Of course, you could just run them all and Advance Scout...

Oh George Lopez, why are you charging into battle?

Underrated card. Yes, Knighthood gives all your creatures first strike, but this is one of those cards your opponents tend to overlook until they find themselves saying, "Oops...I forgot about him."

"First Strike" "Broken"
What. I mean, First Strike is nice and all, but not really what I'd call broken.
Well this is a neat card, at any rate. Can take your opponent by surprise if they're not paying attention to the board.

However, if you want soldiers, for
Ajani's Pridemate
Aven Squire
Ballyrush Banneret
Catapult Squad
Or for {W}{W}:
Longbow Archer
Veteran Armorsmith
Of course, you could just run them all and Advance Scout...
