2010 hurts it, but I still feel that this could have been plenty playable at 1R. Sure it has a strong tribal creature type but it's in red and it has an uncommon rarity.
Even in Tempest before real powercreep started showing up it wasn't very popular, its like a very restrictive yet beefier Prodigal Sorcerer (AKA Tim), or if you want to be acurate to the color then I suppouse the time shifted Tim Prodigal Pyromancer would be more appropriate, but it came later.

Nothing was quite as funny as having this equipped with vigilance (via Serra's Blessing) attack into my Storm Crow and then tap Opportunist to kill itself...
