You know how people refer to 2/2 creatures as bears? That's really stupid. I refer to 2/2 creatures as Darksteel Colossi which have been ovinized and given a +2/+1 buff. Darksteel Colossus is so much cooler than Grizzly Bears. Let him be your guide, for he beats in the faces of his foes with great vengeance.

Darksteel Colossus is very cool, but suffers from a problem common to all certifiable bombs. Either he wins you the game, or your opponent pulls out a Swords to Plowshares or whatever and you lost at least a turn, and possibly more, and are probably going to lose the game. I like risk/reward mechanics a lot, but not so much when the game hinges on them, as often happens with the Colossus. It feels like you were cheated out of a victory when an opponent plays a big, self-protected creature you can't deal with, yet it's not much fun when your big, self-protected creature gets killed before it even gets a hit in. The whole thing seems a bit boring to me, like it doesn't encourage interesting play or deckbuilding.

And yet we come back to a key issue: Darksteel Colossus is just so damn cool. It looks like Ted Hughes' Iron Man crossed with Russel from Gorillaz. That's a win in my book!

He's a good Tinker target. He's also the 99.99% Thirst for Knowledge target.

One of the mostest awesomest creatures EVER. Such a pain in the butt, such a game winner. Of course he's vulnerable to some removal cards, but why think a card is weak just because it's vulnerable to something? For every card out there there's another that will negate it, so why build a deck around anything at all? Might as well not play at all if you're afraid of Counterspells, Swords to Plowshares, Unsummon, and yes, even Darksteel Colossus.

Look out for blightsteel colossus in mirrodin besieged. Same as this, but it costs 12 colorless and has infect. Wow.
The link won't work now, check back next week or something.

You have to admit, you never thought you'd lose to a giant creature with a head that small.

Hmmm, the Colossi draw some really retarded comments. "Classic is best!" "Blightsteel is broken/disgusting!" Give it up people, both of these cards are awesome and that's all there is to it.

I love this guy because back when I was a little tyke learning to play Magic in the 6th grade, this was my best card, the runner up being Dross Golem because to this day nobody I know plays Black. But seriously, he is hard to deal with and a massive pain.

My favorite memory ever was when I dropped him (I had no Tinkers at the time), someone immediately pacified him, and I used my next turn to do the "Fastball Special" with Bosh, Iron Golem.
