Very fun against players who either only play one or two creatures (Goyf comes to mind) or who don't use any to speak of. Just starts burning them. Plus its a colorless source of damage...and you can sac chump blockers to it.

@ Teufel: The "permanently" is gone on the oracle text, and was only there to stress that the effect doesn't end at end of turn. But since your opponent then controls the idol, he can of course also use it's ability to pass it back to you. So if you have enough creatures to sac you can keep passing it back and forth. Unless you play something like ivory mask or damping matrix to prevent him from doing so.
