A great way to handel artifacts if your playing with a big green creature deck. Just make sure you have plenty of mana exceleration.

Love the artwork, but otherwise this card isn't great. If you're not running artifacts and want to punish people who use them there's far better cards to use. So if your opponent isn't artifact heavy this is 7 CMC for a 6/4 with a mediocre ability at best.

Would have been a fun uncommon.

If it cost two less it would still be average at best

Needs Trample to be competitive.

Synergy with fellow wurm, Bellowing Tanglewurm. Then all you need fear are those pesky green critters.

Well, I clicked random with the stipulation that if I randomed onto a card that was significant to me I would comment on it. Lo and behold, I come across Roaring Slagwurm, one of my earliest rares and one that I really loved. I can honestly say that it was special to me just because of the really fantastic art, and I had yet to see the likes of Craw Wurm and its ilk. Anyways, this is a cool card that is probably only really effective in Mirrodin block. In any case, it holds a special place in my Timmy heart.

interestingly you could use this, mycosynth lattice and Oak Street Innkeeper in a combo deck to protect you board from sorcery removal of key combo pieces that wouldn't normally tap.

I know it's a pretty poor combo but that's what happens when random card-ing through gatherer.
