you can also use it for fast mana producing or similar tap effects. as long as you don't plan to attack with them, it's as if all creatures you control had haste. and don't forget the shroud, which can also be quite useful.
on top of that, the free equip cost might find some use with certain triggered effects to create infinite loops.

This card is insane with Reanimator decks, as well as with creatures like Ball Lightning, giving them shroud for free. It's a great artifact that doesn't cost a lot, grants two relevant abilities, and looks cool.

I picked one of these up recently at a FNM, for the 0 equip cost these boots are well worth adding into any green stomp deck, every creature would essentially have haste.
although i thought this card was cooler before i found out its an old uncommon....

Play for two and equpt for free? Awesome. Most of the time, it can be equpt on the same turn and for it's cost, to a great creature.

Might as well read "creatures you control have shroud".

this + leonin shikari= constant haste for your creatures and your opponent is unable to target any of your creatures

@Fictionarious - well given that you can only equip at sorcery speed (unless you have a Leonin Shikari out as FugimSky mentioned) it doesn't really work like that. If your opponent goes to spot remove a creature without these greaves (or does it in response to putting the equip ability on the stack) you're SOL. It's a very, very, very good card, but they only realise their true potential when you have Leonin Shikari in play.

Does shroud stop you attaching other equipments to a creature? Since equip does state "attach to TARGET creature you control"

Yes Shroud does stop more equips.

shorud prevents it from getting new equips, but with equip cost of 0, as long as you control another creature, you could equip it to creature B, attach new equipment, then equip it back to creature A

attach it to anything with lifelink

thankfully, you can only equip at sorcery speed and this doesn't have the alternate method of attaching that some other equipment had.
Still, two mana for a hasty shrouded creature is pushing the envelope.

Daru Spiritualist + Starlit Sanctum + another creature + this. Congratulations, you can now set your life total at the highest number you can think of.
Haste for 0 is stupid. 5/5, but stupid. It's strickly better than the "normal haste color" (red).
Since we have Ma-ss Hysteria in the same set, but as a rare card, this one needed a drawback.
Oh, wait, we have a drawback: shroud!
(?!?)
Very stupid!... but 5/5!

I do not understand how anyone can rate this any less than 5.

Just look at the art, and then look at the card. This screams rare that the top of its lungs. Playability its on the edge of broken, and as far as the color wheel is concerned, this thing is better then red at giving creatures haste in colorless.
What the heck where the developers thinking back then?

Snakes love curling up in the toes of these stylish boots. Don't let lack of legs/feet prevent you from wearing whatever you want. (Kamigawa "snakes" aren't snakes.) Fantastic card, despite the standard equipment logic issues. 5/5
