Now that I think about it, this would have gone fairly well as a 1 or 2-of in the Two Pints deck (Mogg Maniac, Kor creatures, Soltari Priest, Earthquake, Firestorm) deck I occasionally played at the time. Its weenies could hopefully either pile the damage on a Priest (harmlessly) or a Maniac (hitting the opponent hard), and 5 power for 4 mana doesn't exactly suck. Without the Kor guys, though, no red deck of the time in its right mind would have run this, and you really didn't want your creature curve to start at 4 mana at that time. Still, I can't help but wonder if this isn't an underrated card no-one found the right deck for.

Self pyroclasm every turn, build around card. Either run everything with 3 toughness or higher or combo with it.
People should only think about this card based on the combos it has. It's obviously very bad in a deck that isn't built around it, so people should try to figure out a way to build around it!
