I always felt like that ability was a big drawback. you can get stuck drawing a 3/2 for 4 over and over, while your opponent is of course drawing new cards.

"when undying beast dies..." the new wording sounds ridiculous on this one.

It's just the Portal version of Gravebane Zombie, with worse typing. The slight difference in wording can matter, but only occasionally.
Bloodline Shaman combos well with this (if you want to stop drawing only it), or you know, any card advantage engine :)

Man, I remember this being one of my first cards when I was really young and just getting into Magic. I thought it was the coolest thing ever - like, IT NEVER DIES. WHAT. Of course, now I realize it's okay at best, doesn't do squat for most mono-black strategies, and can severely screw up your tempo if used recklessly. That said, the art on this thing will never not be the coolest thing ever.
(note: Beast? Really? I mean, I know that was the obvious route, but this thing always struck me as more of a spirit. Come on guys, make it a horror at least.)

Him being a beast is fine with me. Wirewood Savage lets you undo any loss of tempo from re-drawing this guy!
