Gave an extra half-star for the flavor text.

I personally prefer Heal or Bandage to this and Reviving Dose; Heal and Bandage cost less, generally have the exact same effect, and can be used as a combat trick. Their damage prevention could help against wither, deathtouch, first strike, lifelink and poison.

Or Renewed Faith, which is actually pretty good.

Great flavor, horrible card. Even if it had cost {W} it would have still been mediocre.

Love the art though.

This card has been made better with miracles. Play on your turn, to gain life and miracle in opponents

It takes a real pimp to stop and drink a glass of wine while people are trying to beat you down with goyfs

Is there a worse lifegain card? Even the original lifegain on cast Xcolor spell artifacts were somewhat useful in games among players just starting who don't have many cards, like everyone was then. Even Healing Salve could sometimes be a decent combat trick. Even Archangel's Light could be fun to try to utilize in some sort of casual deck that tries some sort of lifegain win con. If this cost one, maybe it would be good in casual to thin out your deck, but for 2 mana you could just put in almost any cycling card would be better.

Does this even really count as a life gain card? One life gained is hardly anything, making this basically a horrible white think twice.
